Practice Policy Update regarding COVID-19

Michael O.

Last year my knee told me that it was time. That’s when I made the decision to consult with Dr Mack. While I was referred to him by my primary care physician, I couldn’t have landed in better hands if I had researched doctors far and wide. His character and qualifications are unsurpassed. And his team of medical professionals is the best. Dr Mack advised that my only course was total joint replacement. So I had the surgery in January (its now March). I’m just about done with my rehab, now winding down the physical therapy sessions. I’ve visited with Dr Mack and his staff along the way via telecoms and office visits to address issues, allay concerns, and to assess how I was doing. They were always there for me, had time for me. That makes a big difference. Only two months in, and I’m advised to put the knee to the test. So I’m back to my usual routine. I can even get back to my golf game. That’s pretty amazing. Who would have thought. I can’t thank Dr Mack enough for what he’s done for me. It’s truly been life changing, going from limping around to walking normally again…and without pain. Dr Mack, just know that you have a champion out there. But then again, I’m sure you have many. So, listen to the knee. You know who to see. Doc, you’re the best!

On March 1st, 2016 I had a Custom Total Knee Replacement done by Dr. Mack. My pre op and post op care have been excellent. Everyone I encountered was kind, respectful, professional, and had a smile on their face. Excellent rating for Advanced Orthopedics and North Cypress Medical Center.

Over a 10 year period I have suffered with knee problems. I had 3 arthroscopic knee surgeries to clean up the knees and trim the meniscus, none of which relieved the pain I had. I even had a series of shots several times that relieved the pain for a few weeks, but as the shots wore off the pain returned.

Through prayer and research I was able to find Dr. David Mack and soon had an appointment to see if I could get relief from my knee pain in both knees. I can tell you that it turned out to be a real miracle.

In January, 2015 Dr. Mack performed a partial replacement on my left knee and within 6 weeks it was completely healed and through physical therapy I had a healthy knee, free of pain. On August 11th Dr. Mack performed a partial replacement on my right knee. This time the knee healed even faster than the right one. I am a 79 year old male and after 5 weeks I was actually able to run on the beach, although my Physical Therapist cautioned against it (after I had already done it). Dr. Mack released me on October 6th and I am pain free in both of my knees. Without question, my knees feel better than they have for the past 20 – 25 years.

Not only has Dr. Mack, and God given me a new lease on life with pain free knees, but his staff, especially Julie, his nurse and Victoria the physical therapist responsible gave special attention to detail and made the entire process flow smoothly.

I highly recommend Dr. David Mack and his method of doing “partial knee replacement” or any other type he may do. I would also recommend that the physical therapy be done according to the doctor’s instructions.

Dr. Mack performed a total replacement procedure on my right knee. The surgery and after care were superb and circumstances were not at all as unsettling as I expected them to be. From first meeting Dr. Mack to this very moment, all of my questions have been answered, fears set to rest, and concerns addressed. Two weeks after receiving my new knee I was walking better than the day before surgery. Dr. Mack and his wonderful staff were, at all times, courteous, helpful, attentive, and professional. I have one more knee to go and, thanks to Dr. Mack and his staff, I have the utmost confidence my second procedure will be just as smooth and successful as the first.

Two weeks ago, as I limped into the hospital for a total knee replacement, I was filled with lots of mixed emotions. I was quickly made comfortable by a pleasant and efficient staff. Dr. Mack came in to greet me with a cheery, “Good Morning.” The anesthesiologist explained the femoral block and the anesthesia that would be used as he prepared me for the procedure.

What seemed like moments later, I woke in the recovery room with little discomfort and a brand new knee!

The afternoon on the day of my surgery, using my walker, I made my way down the hall to the physical therapy room and I was exercising my leg and strengthening the muscles that were moving my new knee. Soon after I was home, a home care physical therapist continued the exercises. Less than a week after the operation, my walker was retired.

Needless to say, I am in a state of utter amazement and wonderment at the miracle of modern day medical technology and the doctors, like Dr. Mack, that are contributing to these cutting edge advancements. Thank you Dr. Mack and staff!

My worries are long gone, and I am looking forward to the next 25 years filled with active, fun-filled, pain free, adventurous living.

It is has been 5 months since I had my partial knee replacement with the Comformis IUni. I am totally happy with the results. The surgery went just like Dr. Mack and his staff explained and my recovery has gone along much faster and smoother than I had ever anticipated. When I refer my friends to Dr. Mack I tell them he is just like meeting your next door neighbor. Dr. Mack and his staff are extremely professional but yet very caring.

Now I have full use of my knee and it is hard to even find the 4 inch scar. I can walk with no more leg pain, and I am grateful to Dr. Mack for his professional work. I am a senior citizen and consider the procedure easy.

My wife and I cannot be more pleased with the entire knee replacement process and procedure. Dr. Mack and his excellent professional and knowledgeable staff kept us informed as to what to expect along each step of the way. The Pre-Op and Post-Op information provided was most helpful and assuring. Attention was paid to every detail of the process, all on an extremely personal and caring level.

The entire experience, from initial examination and diagnosis through rehabilitation, has been handled in a most professional and personable manner. We truly appreciate the efforts of Dr. Mack and his entire staff.

At the age of 44, I never thought I would have to say I had total knee replacement surgery on both knees, but the way Dr. Mack and his staff approached my situation of replacing my partial knee replacements made it a more comfortable decision. Any questions or concerns/fears I had were quickly and professionally answered and assuaged, and I believe that is what made an impact on what I was choosing to do. I am very pleased with the outcome of the surgery, recovery and physical therapy of going through such a major process twice. The pain I had prior to the surgery was gone the day of the surgery, and that was a great feeling.

In the late mid 70’s my wife & I spoke with Greg S. and asked him “how they did it”…rode their bikes from Alaska to South America. His response; it’s easy, “just do it”. Fast forward to last week-end and picture your patient, 4 months after a total patient specific knee replacement, up on his wake board and skiing well. I couldn’t be happier with every facet of my choice to have Dr. Mack & his team replace my knee! Everyone from Dr. Mack’s office, the surgical team at North Cypress, the caring nurses on the 4th floor, & the energy of the staff at North Cypress Sports Medicine Center were outstanding. So for anyone considering a Dr. Mack knee replacement I’d say “just do it”!

Thank you Dr. Mack

It has been eight weeks since my partial knee replacement and now I realized just how much I was missing. Having it done has made such a difference to my life. For a start my leg is now straight and my knees actually touch! I have started walking and even plan to ride my bike. The most thrilling part is that I am playing and dancing with my grandchildren again.

To any prospective partial knee replacement candidates,

A little more than a year ago, my knees caused me an extraordinary amount of pain whenever I stood or walked for any significant amount of time. I had been doing ongoing, extensive research into knee replacement surgery, including a search for surgeons. Fortunately, I found Dr. David Mack. Dr. Mack offered me a partial knee replacement option which I had not known would be a possibility for me. To make a long story short, I agreed and had bilateral partial knee replacement with the ConFormis implants. Before the surgery, It was difficult for me to walk the short distance to Dr. Mack’s office from the parking lot. At my year anniversary, I had to park in the far back parking lot and had no problem walking the distance whatsoever. I can now walk as far as I want with minimal to no knee pain. The procedure has provided me with a remarkable improvement in the quality of my life.

Dancing has always played a major role in my life. You can imagine the amount of damage to my knees after 60+ years. The pain was severe and my fear of surgery kept me off the dance floor for a few years. My family finally persuaded me to try surgery because of the recent technological advances in procedures and recovery time is shorter. I had a partial knee replacement 3 months ago. I’m recovering quite well and expect to be dancing very soon. Dr. Mack is my hero and I would encourage anyone who fears knee surgery to give it a try!

Recovery at home went very well. The incision healed quickly with no problem. My husband worked during the day, and so I was alone, but I didn’t have much difficulty at all. It really amazed me how simple everything was. Followup visits were rewarding. Dr. Mack told me I was doing very well. I was happy because it seemed like I was progressing very fast toward my goals. Today I am walking as far as I want everyday. I’m so glad friends referred me to Dr. Mack. They had said a lot of good things about him, and I’m one who can confirm this!

I was recently a patient of Dr. David R. Mack. On February 17th, 2015, Dr. Mack performed a partial knee replacement on my left knee.

The staff at the clinic was most helpful and supportive before and after the surgery. . The administrative support was efficient and timely. Julie responded to numerous post-op phone calls answering questions in a very timely and patient manner. In addition, the surgical staff to include the anesthesiologist, surgical nurse and technicians was cordial, efficient, professional, patient and responsive to my questions and concerns. Dr. Mack was timely regarding his post-operative visit with my husband and his visit to check on me was genuine and informative.

The staff assigned to the hospital was also attentive and very supportive of my physical needs and limitations following the surgery. The physical therapy staff was instructive, patient, and encouraging regarding my recovery process. “I walked up a full flight of stairs (12 steps) at my home the day after the surgery”. Who would have thought!

My pre-operative, operation and post-operative experience was one that made the surgery all worthwhile. My goals now are to go shopping at a mall and play golf with my husband without my knee hurting me.

I love my new knee! Prior to my knee replacement, osteoarthritis throughout my body made it very painful for me to walk or even stand for long. Now I can do both! I cannot wait to get my other knee done so I can walk and stand even more. Thanks Dr Mack!

I recently celebrated my 1st year anniversary with my left knee and the 1st anniversary with my right knee is coming up! I wish I had done them much sooner than I did! My level of comfort is incredible. I recently was able to complete the Disney Tinkerbell 5K with my sister, daughter, and granddaughter without any problems! Thank you for making this happen! The only thing that didn’t “hurt” when I was done were my knees! I loved it! Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!
